How I got into diving

Hello everyone!
My name is Egor and I'm a diver 👏🏼 🤿
This is my first post on my blog where I'm going to write about different things related to diving. But first, let me tell you how it all started.
About 7–8 years ago, I went to a music and water sports festival somewhere near Anapa, Russia. As part of the ticket, I could try a scuba diving activity. In reality, it looked like this: they gave me a wetsuit, helped me put on a BCD, and we walked into the water to a depth of 1.5 meters. Then the instructor started to explain how to breathe underwater.
"Put this thing between your lips and put your head under water," the instructor said.
The depth was 1.5 meters, right next to the beach somewhere near Anapa — which means a sandy bottom and zero visibility. The whole thing lasted about 10 minutes =) But even after this "dive," I decided that I wanted to try real diving someday.
In 2022, I moved to Phuket to live and work there, and I finally decided to make my old dream come true — I took the Open Water Diver course.

A colleague from work recommended my instructor, and it was a great recommendation. I can say for sure that he is one of the main reasons I decided to keep diving and not stop at the basic certificate.

After finishing the course, I went to a dive shop to buy "just a mask and fins, nothing else" so I could go diving once or twice a month. Six months later, I already had a full set of equipment, and I go diving almost every week.
To keep the diving experience alive between dives, I bought a GoPro and started an Instagram where I post videos of the fish I meet underwater. I think watching your own videos and identifying the fish you saw is also a big part of why I enjoy diving so much.

Recently, I realized that I want to share my experience and knowledge with others. That's how I got the idea to start a diving blog and write notes about it. Let's see how it goes!)
